Fashion Group International 22nd Annual Night Of The Stars.

This evening Sandy was a recipient of an honorary humanitarian award for her charitable contributions to the American Red Cross at the Fashion Group International 22nd Annual Night Of The Stars. Sandra Bullock presents Breakthrough Director Of The Year Award to Paul Haggis.

Sandy presented Paul Haggis with the Breakthrough Director Of The Year Award for "Crash" during the Hollywood Film Awards at the Beverly Hilton in LA earlier this evening. Also the "Crash" ensemble (Sandra Bullock, Don Cheadle, Matt Dillon, Terrence Howard, Larenz Tate, Thandie Newton and Jennifer Esposito) was presented with honorary awards for "Best Ensemble".

This is what Sandy said while talking to the press:
"Well, it was important for me to be involved in something like that, whether it was 'Crash' or something else," she said. "But, you know, you can't, you can say, 'I want to do a variety of things,' but you get what you get. And I realised about a couple years ago that I was going to have to stop, so I literally stopped and didn't work for a year and a half. I said, publicly, 'I'm not going to do certain things for right now.' And you wait. And you have audition, and you have to start from scratch. And you don't get money anymore.
It's like you had this run and you literally had to go back to square one. I was willing to do it, and thankfully I had some really extraordinary directors that give me part or allowed me to audition or fight for them that are just stunning to me. So, this being one of the first ones, and I was just, you know... but, again, it's good writing. And that's not really available all the time."
She also put everything into perspective, looking around at the corporate logos, and saying, “Oh, Reebok is a sponsor. I wonder if we’re going to get any free stuff. That’s why we come to these, anyway.

Sandra Bullock to be honored at Hollywood Film Festival.

Sandra Bullock and the cast of Crash will be honored at the 9th annual Hollywood Film Festival. The Hollywood Film Festival´s Board of Advisors has announced that this year´s festival will honor Oscar-winning actress Diane Keaton with the "Hollywood Career Achievement Award", Academy Award-winning director Sam Mendes with the "Hollywood Director of the Year Award" and the cast of Lions Gate´s "Crash" with the "Hollywood Ensemble Acting of the Year Award".
The ceremony will be held on October 24th (evening) at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Sandra Bullock will be on Oprah today with the rest of the cast from Crash (Don Cheadle, Matt Dillon, Terrence Howard and Chris "Ludacris" Bridges). Director Paul Haggis will also be there. They will talk about the making of the film, racism and stereotypes.
